Dallas County bail bonds

We do everything in our power here at Jail Birds Bail Bond to get your loved one out of a Dallas County jail as quickly as possible. One way we do this is by providing payment plans. Usually, we get a percentage of the fee with the balance set up on a payment plan that is affordable for you during the difficult time immediately after an arrest.

First, you need to give us a call so we can verify that a warrant is active (we’ll need your name and date of birth to do this). We’ll verify that the warrant is active and determine if an amount of required bail has been set by the judge. Arranging for you to surrender yourself and immediately submitting a bail bond for your release (this is called a walk-through bond) is a good option, as you will get out jail much faster than if you were arrested at home or at work.

It only takes 10 minutes to fill out our required paperwork. The length of time it takes to get out jail depends on the jail itself – it can range anywhere from minutes to a couple of hours. This varies depending on whether the holding facility is busy or not. We work as fast as we possible can to speed up the process as much as we can!

In some cases, collateral must be put up in order for a bail bond to be obtained for the release of a defendant. An example of collateral is money, property, etc. that you deposit with the bail bond company. For example, if bail is set at $10,000, 10% of the total would be the premium – this must be paid upfront in cash (this is a fee for the agent and is non-returnable). The remaining $9,000 would need to be presented to the bail agent in the form of collateral. This ensures that if the defendant skipped bail the Dallas County bail bondsman would be guaranteed his money.

In order for a defendant to be released before their trial begins, bail must be paid. This is some form of property or money that is pledged or paid to the court, with the understanding that the defendant will return for any and all court appearances. If they fail to appear, bail will be forfeit (which is illegal, and will result in additional charges). Missing court is also referred to as skipping bail, bond jumping, and bond forfeiture.

A Cosigner or Indmenitor on a bail bond is the person who agrees to be financially responsible for the full amount the bail bond, should the defendant skip bail (and should they not return to court). The Indemnitor is responsible for all the costs incurred because of the missed court date. If there are more than one Indemntior, they are jointly liable for the costs and responsibility. If a defendant skips bail and cannot be returned to court, the Indemnitor(s) is financially responsible for the entire bail bond amount. No additional costs or responsibilities are incurred if the defendant makes their court appearances, however. The Indemnitor only has to pay the initial fee or premium if the defendant makes all their court appearances.

A bail bondsman is a company or person who acts as surety and pledges money as bail and takes responsibility for the court appearances of the defendant for whom the bail is issued.
