We offer payment plans here at Jail Birds Bail Bonds, because we want to do anything within our power to help you and your friend or family member during this difficult time. Usually, we will get a percentage of the fee with the balance set up on a payment plan that is affordable for you during the difficult time immediately after an arrest.

If you believe there is a warrant out for your arrest, contact us with your name and birth date: We’ll verify that the warrant is active. We’ll also determine the bail amount that was set by the judge. Next, we’ll discuss with you and make arrangements for you to current yourself, while arranging for a table bond to be submitted immediately after your surrender so you are released as quickly as possible (this is called a walk-through bond). It is much better to surrender than take a chance at being arrested at work, or at home, and not being prepared. You don’t want to spend any additional amount of time in jail.

There are many factors that go into how long it takes to get someone out of jail. We strive to work as fast as possible on your bail bond – it only takes 10 minutes to fill out the required paperwork. Most jails, it takes a few minutes to a couple of hours to get out of jail. In some cases, however, when a jail is particularly busy, the hold time can be much longer. Give us a call as soon as you can so we can begin working on the bai bond for a fast release.

Collateral is sometimes required to get a defendant out of jail. It is money, property, etc that is deposited with the bail company. For example, if a bail is set to $10,000, 10% of the total would be paid upfront, in cash, as the premium for the bond (this is non-refundable, as it is the agent’s fee). The remaining $9,000 of the bail amount would need to be presented to the bondsman in the form of collateral. This acts as a type of insurance, so that if the defendant skips bail, the agent would be guaranteed his money.

When a person is arrested, the court sets a certain amount of money that must be paid in order for them to be released before they go to trial. This is called bail. The bail amount depends on many things, including the severity of the alleged crime, the jurisdiction where it took place, and the criminal history of the defendant. This money acts as a sort of insurance that the defendant won’t just leave town. If they skip bail (this is also referred to as jumping bail and bond jumping), the bail is forfeit. This is illegal, so they will face additional charges for the bond forfeiture if they don’t return to court.

Bail can be difficult to pay, because the money has to be in cash, and it has to be in full (you can’t pay it in installments). A good option for getting out of jail is by working with a bail bondsman. You pay them a premium, and the agent acts as a surety and pledges money or property as bail, and takes responsibility for the court appearances of the person who is obtaining the bond.

When you obtain a bail bond with an agent, someone will be the Indemnitor, or Cosigner. This person agrees to be financially responsible for the entirety of the bail amount should the defendant fail to make a court appearance and fails to return to court. The Indemnitor will be held responsible for any costs associated with the defendant skipping bail. If there are multiple Indemnitors, they are jointly liable, which means the full amount could be collected from one or both. As long as the person you obtained the bond for makes all their court appearances, you will not have to pay anything.
